Frequently asked questions (FAQ’s)
The eggs and breadcrumbs act as a binder which helps to prevent your slider patties from falling apart.
Basting with butter will keep them moist and flavorful. Don't skip this step!
I hear this question a lot. You're right, it can be flavorless, BUT if you flavor the meat well and add the right ingredients, they are fantastic! These are so good! Ground turkey sliders with Hawaiian Rolls are perfect for tailgating, an easy dinner, a snack, you name it!
Deb’s tips for the perfect dish
Don't overmix the turkey mixture. Otherwise, it will be tough and fall apart. Mix until they are just combined and shaped.
- Pre-heat your grill or skillet. The burgers won't stick to a hot skillet, plus you get a nice sear on the outside of your patties.
- Use marmalade, apricot or pepper jam, or orange jelly on the buns. It makes the burger. It's my favorite way to top the burgers. Don't skip this step!
- If you're a cheese on the burger kinda guy or gal, Dan and I have used both Swiss cheese, or provolone cheese slices and thinly sliced red onion. Mighty tasty!
How to store leftovers
Refrigerate - Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. It's best if you store them unassembled so that your slider buns do not get soggy.
Freezer - You can freeze the uncooked or cooked burger patties in a freezer-safe container for up to three months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
Reheat - You can reheat the patties in the microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute or reheat them in the skillet with a small amount of water over medium heat for the best results. Basting again with butter won't hurt, either. 😋
