Equipment

  • 1 grilling pan or fry pan

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey breast or chicken breast
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced green onion
  • ¼ cup finely chopped celery
  • ½ cup apple shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 lemon
  • cup parsley finely chopped
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup apricot jam, chutney or orange jam
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls

Instructions

  • Shred the apple and drizzle with lemon or lime. Toss to combine.
  • Mix together burger ingredients - ground chicken, green onions, celery, eggs, shredded apple, and steak seasoning.
  • Next add the bread crumbs. Mix to combine. Shape into 12 small burgers, slider size.
  • Fry on the grill, basting with melted butter. Or saute in a frying pan with butter. Remove from the grill and tent with foil until ready to serve. The sliders are done when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
  • Serve on Hawaiian rolls. Slather the buns with the mayonnaise and jam. Top with a cooked burger. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

These are a fun appetizer on the grill and easy to make on an indoor grill as well!
Don't skip the jam - there's something about the sweetness of the jam and makes these burgers POP!
