Air fryer maple glazed carrots
This carrot recipe so easy to make and a great option for holiday meals or to add some veggies to your weeknight meal. Like the candied sweet potato recipe, you only need simple ingredients that are easy to find at your local grocery store! Even your picky eaters will love them!
Ingredients you’ll need
For the exact measurements, please refer to the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- medium size whole carrots
- olive oil or avocado oil
- Maple syrup - in a pinch, you can use honey or brown sugar.
- parsley
- salt and black pepper
Creative variations to try
- If you are looking for a hint of spice, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the glaze.
- For a more savory version, omit the maple syrup and add a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar to the glaze.
- Try using different herbs such as thyme or rosemary in place of the parsley.
- Substitute baby carrots if you prefer. If they are super thick, you can slice them in half or adjust by adding more cooking time. Using rainbow carrots will make this side dish extra special!

FAQ's
Yes! You can make these carrots up to 2 days in advance. Just store them in the fridge and reheat them in the air fryer when you are ready to serve.
Deb’s tips for the perfect dish
For best results slice your carrots as evenly as possible so that they cook at the same rate.
- You can line your air fryer basket with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy clean up.
- Make sure that you place carrots in a single layer so that they cook evenly. You may need to cook your carrots in batches as you don't want to overload the air fryer basket.
- The cook time may vary if you are using a different type of air fryer, so watch the carrots closely, you know they are done when they are fork tender.
- This recipe was tested in a Cosori 5.8 QT, if using a different air fryer you may need to adjust your time. At 8 minutes the carrots were cooked with a slight crunch and at 10 minutes they were fully cooked.
- Save your carrot peels in a freezer-safe bag in the freezer so that the next time you make homemade stock you have some carrot scraps to add to it.
Whether you're oven roasting vegetables or using your air fryer, the caramelization brings out flavor and sweetness.
How to store leftovers
Refrigerate - These carrots will last in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Reheat in the air fryer before serving.
Freezer - I do not recommend freezing these carrots as they will get mushy when thawed.
Reheat - When rewarming the carrots, place them back in the air fryer basket at 320 degrees F for 3 to 4 minutes.
