FAQ's

How long do you cook frozen wings in an air fryer?

If usually takes about 10 minutes to defrost them, and then about 12 minutes to cook them.

What is the best way to ensure that the wings get crispy?

The best way to get crispy wings is to ensure you don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. You want to allow room for the air to move around the wings. Which means that you may need to cook them in batches.

Deb's tips

  • While you are cooking these wings, be sure that you don't overcrowd the air fryer basket and that you keep the wings in a single layer so that they cook quickly.
  • Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce or dressing. My favorite sauces are blue cheese dressing, ranch dressing, buffalo sauce, bbq sauce, and a dry rub.
  • If you want the crispy skin, you would get from deep frying; you must add a couple of extra minutes to your cook time.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure these wings' internal temperature reaches 175 degrees f.
  • Just a note that each air fryer model can have different cooking times so watch your first batch of wings closely during the cooking process.

Variations

  • You can use fresh wings or even thawed wings with this recipe just skip the thawing directions and follow the recipe of this easy recipe.
  • If you want to add a little heat to these wings, sprinkle on cayenne pepper, and chili powder or top them with a splash of hot sauce.
  • Once your wings are fully cooked, you can toss them in your favorite wing sauce.

Storage

Refrigerate - Store leftover chicken wings in an airtight container for up to three days.

Freezer - Place cooked chicken wings in a freezer-safe container for up to three months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.

Reheat - Reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees for 3 to 4 minutes or until warm all the way through.
