Happy Halloween! Are you looking to have some spooky fun? Then start with a Witches Brew Cocktail. It's perfect to start the party off right!

What makes this recipe irresistible

This yummy vodka-based drink is perfect for Halloween. It's easy to turn into a punch or great served individually. Grab some gummy worms or candy eyeballs to float in your potion for this spooky cocktail!

All of the ingredients needed to make the cocktail, including fun garnishes.

What you'll need: ingredients

  • cranberry juice
  • orange juice or pineapple juice
  • vodka
  • triple sec
  • fresh lime
  • green food coloring
  • crushed ice
  • Gummy worms, candy eyeballs for garnish and/or black sugar for rimming the glass. All optional, but it makes the cocktail so fun!

If you'd prefer a non-alcoholic version, eliminate the alcohol.

Step-by-step guide: instructions

  1. Slice the lime into wedges. Rim of your cocktail glass and dip the rim of the glass into the black sugar.
  2. Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Combine cranberry juice, orange juice, vodka, triple sec, and lime juice. Add 2 drops of green food coloring. Shake well until mixed.
  3. Fill your prepared glass with crushed ice and strain the mixed cocktail over the ice.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

Where did you get those cool cocktail glasses?

Aren't they awesome? I found those on Amazon a while back, but there are many fun, spooky choices! Click on the link above in the equipment section. The Amazon storefront link has even more glasses to choose from!

Can I add dry ice to a punch bowl or my drink?

Nope! Dry ice isn't for human consumption. So though it looks cool in the pictures, don't add it to your drink. You could add some to a cauldron used for decoration purposes only. It adds a spooky fog, I love that!

Can I use a different color food dye?

Absolutely! You can also use red or purple food coloring. I just thought the green looked especially cool.

Deb's tips for the perfect dish

Make a pitcher of these for your party! It's easy to adjust the serving size. Use the drag bar to adjust the ingredient amounts in the recipe card for the amount of servings.

You can use a large pitcher or a punch bowl if you're serving a crowd.

Equipment

  • 2 low ball glasses or old fashioned cocktail glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup vodka
  • ¼ cup triple sec
  • 1 fresh lime
  • 2 drops green food coloring optional, for a spooky twist
  • Crushed ice
  • Gummy worms or candy eyeballs for garnish
  • Black sugar for rimming the glass optional

Instructions

  • Slice the lime into wedges. Run the lime around the rim of your cocktail glasses by and dip the rim of the glass into a plate of black sugar. Set aside.
  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine cranberry juice, orange juice, vodka, triple sec, and lime juice.
  • Add 2 drops of green food coloring for a spooky green hue. Shake well until mixed.
  • Fill your prepared glass with crushed ice and pour the mixed cocktail over the ice.
  • Garnish with gummy worms or candy eyeballs. Keep it fun and festive for a fun Halloween.
