Crockpot pork tenderloin

This is a super simple recipe. It's one of my go-to meals when I'm short on time. The crock pot does most of the work, with only 10 minutes of prep!

The whole house smells so good while it's cooking. I love that part! Leftover pork makes a great sandwich on day two.

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ pound pork tenderloin
  • 5-6 Yukon gold potatoes
  • 3-4 carrots peeled and choped into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 yellow onion sliced
  • 1 tablespoon chicken seasoning
  • 12 ounce pork gravy can also use chicken or turkey

Instructions

  • Spray the crockpot vessel with nonstick cooking spray set aside.
  • Sprinkle the pork tenderloin with the seasoning. Lay in the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Clean the vegetables. Slice the onion, dice the potato and carrots into 2-inch chunks.
  • Spread the vegetables around pork tenderloin.
  • Pour the pork gravy over the vegetables. (If you're using the packets, prepare the pork gravy as per package directions and then pour.)
  • Seal the crockpot, and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 ½ hours.
  • Remove the meat from the slow cooker and allow it to rest for 10 minutes, covered with foil.
  • Slice the tenderloin, and serve with the cooked veggies on the side with the gravy. Enjoy!

Notes

Storage Instructions - Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. This dish freezes well! Just store it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
Reheat leftovers on the stovetop on medium heat or single servings in the microwave. If you find that it's a little dry, try adding a little bit of liquid such as chicken broth or water to help thin the gravy.
Pork tenderloin is done when the internal temperature is 145 degrees. Test with an instant reader thermometer.

    Crockpot pork tenderloin FAQ's

Do I need to add liquid to slow cooker pork?

The only liquid that you need to use in this crock pot pork tenderloin recipe is from the gravy. The rest of the liquid will come from the meat and vegetables as it cooks.

Should you sear pork before slow cooking?

I didn't, but you can if you prefer. Season the pork, and then sear it on all sides in a large skillet with a drizzle of olive oil.

    Top Tip

Pork tenderloin and pork loin are not the same cut. Be sure you get a tenderloin. They are usually sold in a package that contains two tenderloins.

If the gravy is thinner than you would like it to be, make a cornstarch slurry. Add that to the slow cooker and allow it to thicken for a few minutes before serving.

    Variations

    • Want to add some additional flavor to your gravy? Add a pinch of garlic powder, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning or your favorite dried herbs.
    • If you want a deeper richer flavor you can also add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce to your gravy.
    • Pork gravy, you can also use chicken or turkey gravy. Though I used a jarred gravy, you can also use two gravy packets (mixed as per package instructions..

    Serve with

When it comes to sides for this slow cooker pork roast, keep it easy and delicious. Simple greens like Steamed Green Beans or Brussels Sprouts balance the richness of the meat without stealing the spotlight. Want to add bread to the plate? Try my Rolls from Frozen Bread Dough or Easy Yeast Rolls-both are warm, fluffy, and made for soaking up that savory goodness.

And if you're the type who needs a little sweet something to finish things off (guilty!), whip up a batch of 4-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies. They're quick, satisfying, and full of classic peanut butter flavor.

Mine is cooking now and the aroma is mouth watering. I did put it on for an extra hour on high because I like the potatoes and vegetables softer.

Do you use the pkg pork gravy or the jar?

You can use either jarred gravy or two packets of the dry gravy mix. If you use the dry gravy mix, prepare it as per package instructions before pouring over the meat and vegetables.
