It's perfect with rolls, on toast and muffins, scones etc. I bet you'll love it as much as we do!

Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

Can you substitute calorie free sweetener for the powdered sugar?

Technically you can, but I don't recommend it. The texture will be grainy.

Is this a compound butter?

Yes it is. Compound butter is simply unsalted butter mixed with other ingredients and this Texas Roadhouse butter is no exception. It uses cinnamon and honey with powdered sugar as the main flavor contributors.

Top Tip

Use real butter and real powdered sugar! The results will not be the same if you use margarine or a low calorie substitute for the powdered sugar.

  • Leave the butter out overnight. That way it's super easy to mix together and will get ultra silky smooth!
  • For best results use a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, or a hand mixer.
  • Make a double batch! You'll be surprised how quickly this will disappear. Because it freezes well, you can make a double-batch and pop the extra cinnamon butter in the freezer!

Perfect pairings: what to serve with

Um... everything! 😋 I think you'll really enjoy this recipe. When you're ready to enjoy it, it's best served at room temperature.

Serve with homemade cornbread or dinner rolls. Top toasted English muffins (I absolutely love this recipe!), that would be heavenly! And of course toast!

This is a lovely hostess gift as well, keep this in mind for the holidays. It would also be a perfect DIY gift for the kids to help you with! What Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt or Uncle wouldn't love to receive a jar of this butter? Since it's such an easy recipe to make, it's done in a snap!

I will be making this honey butter recipe tonight. That Texas Roadhouse butter is so good, and I've tried recreating it but never get it quite right. I've been missing the powered sugar!

If you place in refrigerator does this butter harden?

Yes, it will harden if refrigerated. Additionally, I've spread it on plastic wrap, rolled it into a log, and refrigerated it (or freeze). Then you can slice off the amount you need. It works really well!

Tasted great! Had just a little bit too much honey though, I would recommend 1.5 tablespoons or so.
