Frequently asked questions (FAQ’s)
The key to juicy, tender pork chops lies in the marinade. By letting the pork chops soak in the marinade, the acid from the lemon juice helps to break down the proteins, resulting in a more tender chop.
In my opinion, grilling is the best method for pork chops and the sear from the grill gives them a great smoky flavor. However, pan frying is another great way to make pork chops.
Absolutely, soaking pork chops in salt water, or brining them, can lead to more tender and juicy meat. This method also helps add extra moisture to the pork chops. Marinading creates the same effect but adds additional flavor.
Deb’s tips for the perfect dish
It's important to check that the internal temperature of pork chops reaches 145 degrees F before serving. This ensures the pork chops are cooked safely while remaining juicy and tender. Don't overcook the chops!
- Texas Roadhouse uses boneless pork chops, however, bone-in pork chops will also give you great results for this recipe. I like bone-in because they are lots more flavorful.
- Don't have a grill? No worries! You can't make this delicious recipe on a preheated grill pan or a hot skillet instead.
How to store leftovers
Refrigerate - Do have you leftover pork chops? Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Freezer - You can also freeze these grilled pork chops. To do so, place them in an airtight container or freezer bag and store them for up to 3 months. Thaw completely before reheating.
Reheat - To reheat, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the pork chops and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until heated through. You can also reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. If they are dry add a splash of chicken broth or beef broth to them while they reheat.

Texas Roadhouse Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 thick-cut boneless pork chops, or bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Marinate the pork chops n a shallow dish or a large resealable plastic bag. Combine vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- Add the pork chops to the marinade, ensuring they are coated evenly. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F / 190-200°C). Make sure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking. Or if you're using an indoor grill pan, preheat it over medium heat. Lightly oil the pan.
- Remove the pork chops from the marinade, shaking off excess marinade. Season the pork chops with salt on both sides. (Discard the remaining marinade.)
- Place the pork chops on the preheated grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare to medium doneness, or cook longer if desired. Once the pork chops are done, transfer them to a serving plate. Tent with foil and allow to rest for 8-10 minutes
- In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter.
- Brush the melted butter over the pork chops while they're still hot. This adds richness and flavor to the chops. Enjoy!
