Raspberry Orange Breakfast Strata
Hi everyone! Trisha from The Lazy Mom’s Cooking Blog here. Debra and I have gone all Trading Places on you and have swapped blogs for the day.
While she’s over at my blog telling everyone about some crazy good chicken wings, I’m here to bring you a breakfast feast fit for a queen.
A queen in her jammies watching HGTV until 1 pm and still drinking coffee, but nonetheless a queen.
This strata is the laziest of lazy breakfasts.
While you’re sipping your wine the night before, chop up a loaf of French bread, mix up some eggs and assorted dairy, then add some extras. Toss it together. Throw it in a casserole dish. Cover it and put it in the fridge overnight.
When you get up the next morning, bed head and all, you can bake it off and enjoy it.
The raspberries and hint of orange are just the right amount of pop for a Saturday morning.
The center is creamy and like a custard while the top of the strata is crunchy. It’s by far one of the best things I’ve made.

Raspberry Orange Breakfast Strata
The raspberries and hint of orange are just the right amount of pop for a Saturday morning. The center is creamy and like a custard while the top of the strata is crunchy. It's by far one of the best things I've made.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French Bread - cubed
- 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
- 6 Eggs
- 1 tbsp Almond Extract
- Zest and Juice of One Orange
- 4 cups Raspberries
- 1/2 cup Sliced Almonds
Instructions
- In an 11x8 casserole dish, place bread cubes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, eggs, almond extract, and zest and juice of one orange. Whisk until bubbly.
- Fold in raspberries.
- Pour liquid over the bread. Push down on the bread so that it absorbs the liquid. Sprinkle almonds over the top. Cover with aluminum foil. Refrigerate overnight.
- When ready to bake, remove from refrigerator and preheat oven to 400 F.
- Keep the dish covered and bake for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake for 5 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
