    FAQ's

What kind of canned chili do you use for chili dogs?

I like to use Hormel No Beans chili, or Stagg Chili, but you can use any brand that your family prefers.

Can I make this casserole ahead?

Absolutely, assemble the casserole and cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Refrigerate it until you are ready to bake it.

    Top Tip

To get crispy tater tots on the top of your casserole make sure that you place them in a single layer so they can cook evenly.

This hearty casserole is the star of the show, but if you're looking to round out the meal, a crisp green salad or some sweet and tangy coleslaw makes a great contrast to all that cheesy, chili goodness. Corn on the cob or cornbread also play real nice on the plate.

And don't skip the garnish-add a generous dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of diced or sliced green onions on top. It adds just the right zip and makes it feel a little extra (without lifting a finger more).

    Wrapping it up

If comfort food had a fan club, the Chili Dog Tater Tot Casserole would be president. It's cozy, craveable, and made for those nights when you just need something that hits right!
