2cupsshredded cheesedivided
28ouncestater tots
½cup diced onions
optional topping; thinly sliced green onions.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray the casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
Slice the hotdogs into ½-inch slices. Combine the 2 cans of chili and sliced hot dogs in a large mixing bowl. Spoon into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle the casserole dish with 1 ½ cups shredded cheese and diced onions. Top with tater tots.
Place uncovered in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the tots are golden brown and toasty.
Remove from the oven and top with remaining cheese. Return to the oven and bake for a minute or two longer until the cheese has melted.
Serve topped with green onions. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Storage - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can also freeze this casserole by wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil for up to three months. Reheat in a 350-degree oven for about 15 - 20 minutes or until warmed through and the tots are toasty and crispy.
