Why is Grinch Fudge so irresistible

It's sweet, green and festive! And frankly, anything that makes your heart grow three times it's size in a single day? A must make! Inspired by the grumpiest character in Whoville it's the perrfect dessert to enjoy at your family's Grinch movie night!

And, it's a super easy fudge recipe so you don't have to worry about complicated steps. The rich combination of white chocolate chips and frosting makes it impossible to stop with just one piece!

Ingredients to make the candy recipe. With print overlay.

Ingredients you'll need

Please refer to the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post for the exact measurements.

  • can pre-made vanilla frosting
  • white chocolate chips
  • green food coloring - I use gel coloring, I've linked the food coloing in the equipment below.
  • candy hearts

Creative variations to try

  • Want to add a little more vanilla flavor to this white chocolate fudge recipe? Add a teaspoon of clear vanilla extract to the melted chocolate and frosting mixture.  You can use regular vanilla but it may change the color of your fudge.
  • Can't find white chocolate chips at your local store? You can use white chocolate bars instead. Just make sure that grab a plain chocolate bar and not one with additions like nuts.
  • For a peppermint flavor add a half teaspoon of peppermint extract to the fudge mixture before spreading it in the baking dish.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

How long does it take for fudge to set up?

The fudge will take at least 2 hours to set up in the fridge.

How big should I cut the individual pieces?

This fudge is rich so I recommend cutting it in small squares. About one inch is a good size.

Can I line my pan with aluminum foil instead of parchment paper?

I have, but I've found parchment or wax paper works better than aluminum foil.

Top Tip

Be sure to add enough food coloring to get the Grinch lime green! I used five drops.

  • Once you spread the fudge into your baking dish, gently tap it on the counter to release the air bubbles before you allow it to harden.

This looks like a good and simple fudge. Any idea where I would most likely find the hearts at this time of the year?

I just made the Grinch fudge for Christmas and found the hearts in the grocery store. My grandbaby is in prekindergarten and on the 19th they all dress up as the Grinch. Made it for her.

I have come across making fudge with can frosting more and more lately, I will have to try this. I have made fudge with sweetened condensed milk but it is very sticky getting the sweetened condensed milk out of the can.
