Tips

  • If you're not a fan of angel hair pasta, substitute with your favorite pasta type.
  • For super easy clean up you can use a slow cooker liner for this recipe.
  • To make this creamy sauce thinner, you can add chicken broth or heavy cream.
  • You don't need to melt butter or cream cheese, but soften them enough that you can mix them together.
  • Do not mix the Italian dressing packet per the package directions, you want to add it into this recipe dry.

Variations

  • Use a can of cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken soup.
  • Instead of a dry Italian salad dressing mix, you can use ranch dressing mix for a different flavor.
  • Chicken tenderloins or boneless skinless chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts, but I recommend reducing the cooking time.
  • Add fresh button mushrooms or green beans to this creamy slow cooker angel chicken.
  • For a little extra flavor, top with some shredded Parmesan cheese.
  • If you love mushrooms you can use a can of Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup in place of the cream of chicken soup, that's super yummy!
  • Add in a tablespoon of fresh chives to this dish for a delicious flavor.

Storage

Refrigeration: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheating: Reheat in the microwave or on the stove until warm all the way through.

Freezing: You can freeze the chicken and cream sauce, however I don't recommend freezing the pasta.

Chicken will be much more tender when cooked on low. So though that sounds about right, I can't guarantee it will be tender and juicy. However, give it a try and let me know how it turns out for you. If you don't have the Italian salad dressing seasoning mix, you can use dry ranch dressing or powdered chicken gravy. Enjoy!
