Watching the Oakland A's and enjoying family fun night! Tuesday night it was all about baseball, food and fireworks! How to have a great time while taking in the game. What to see and where to eat when you're at the stadium!
This post has been sponsored by Blog meets Brand, however, all opinions are my own. #ad #RootedInOakland
How did you spend the holiday? If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my stories because we were having an absolute blast Tuesday night! We made a trip into Oakland to watch the Oakland A's take on the San Diego Padres!
Family fun night necessities
- wear your team colors
- coat or jacket - the temperature cools down in the evening (a beanie or hat isn't a bad idea either)
- blanket to cuddle under - bonus? Perfect for enjoying the fireworks show!
- a mit to catch fly balls, of course!
- Friends, if you haven't been to the stadium in the last couple of years you are in for a treat! Grab your tickets here.
Millions of dollars have been spent to improve the Oakland Coliseum, the stadium has great seating and seriously I don't think there's a bad seat in the house!
When you're ready to eat....(and boy did we!) your options are endless, we feasted with a Chicken Lamb Shawarma - a big meaty sandwich.
You guys know I love chicken teriyaki right? It's one of the most popular recipes on my blog! The stadium has their version and it was a tasty bite! The Chicken Teriyaki Bowl was full of tender chicken, fresh veggies and loads of sweet teriyaki sauce. It was super tasty!
But the foodie star of the show (in our opinion!) was the Helmet Nachos!
Yes you heard me right.... a huge pile of tortilla chips, topped with seasoned pork (or chicken), smothered in hot melty cheese, creamy guacamole and sour cream all piled high inside a commemorative helmet.
It was ridiculous and completely over-the-top... just like I'd make at home and you know we loved them! 😋 There's enough to share with the whole family! (I carefully cleaned out the helmet to bring it home but sadly forgot it under my seat after the fireworks after the show.)
The game got underway. The score was 0 - 0 until the Padres scored at the top of the 5th inning. Then the A's woke up their bats and went to town! It was an exciting game to watch.
This is definitely family fun night because no matter where you were there was something fun to see! I love watching the game, the 7th inning stretch was a blast. Singing God Bless America and of course Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
What a super cool way to enjoy a great evening! Sodas, peanuts, cracker jacks and hotdogs are sold by the vendors, with plenty of adult beverages too.
The bobblehead race had everyone in stitches!!!
The crowd was really into the game and the fun didn't stop there. One of the groups in the bleachers started the wave. Around and around the stadium it went - everyone got in on the fun!
Above the left field bleachers is where you'll find the Treehouse which just opened this season! There are two bars open to all fans with entertainment before and after the game. It was taco Tuesday with half off specialty drinks. Be sure to check this out, there are annual passes available!
Guys you need to head to Oakland and take in a game! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and it was a perfect night. The crowd was full of couples and double-dates. Groups of friends taking in the game and tons of families too. Big kids, little kids - everyone was welcome and everyone had fun, it was an absolute blast!
You can grab tickets for the game by clicking here! Buy my tickets now!
The game was exciting and ended with the A's on top winning 6-2, but the fun didn't stop there. After the game nearly everyone stayed for the AMAZING fireworks show!
It was great because you can enjoy the show right on the field! Lay out your blanket, relax and enjoy the show!
The fireworks were set to Patriotic Music and it was quite the show, here's a peak at the finale! Be sure to give this a quick watch (it's only two minutes) and watch to the end, you won't believe the show! I've seen some beautiful fireworks before, but this one definitely takes the cake!
Guys I hope I've talked you into taking in a game and be sure to bring the entire family! This is definitely something everyone will enjoy and the perfect family fun night!

Im a baseball fanatic... ive been to almost every ballpark in existence! My grandparents took us every summer to 4-5 and my brother and I (and our families) have made sure to keep up the tradition! Nothing beats a fun night at the ball park! Dogs, salted peanuts and an ice cold beer! Oakland was a fun park to go to... we just went last summer!
