    Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

Can I use rum to make it more authentic?

Absolutely, rum in the topping is excellent! Or use a splash or rum extract for that signature flavor without the alcohol.

How do I keep the bananas from browning?

Toss sliced bananas with a little lemon juice before layering them in the filling. It helps them stay fresh and pretty.

Can I use a different crust?

Absolutely! A vanilla wafer crust, shortbread crust or pretzel crust would be amazing here.

    Deb's top tips

This is next-level dreamy with a big ol' dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chopped pecans. And if you "accidentally" make extra topping to spoon over ice cream later… well, you're just a genius! 😋
