What makes this frosting irresistible

This frosting strikes just the right balance: rich and buttery, yet smooth enough to spread or pipe. It's sweet but not cloying, and it holds its shape without hardening, so each bite stays creamy.

The texture is soft enough to swirl beautifully over your cake but sturdy enough that it won't slide off.

All of the ingredients to make the frosting recipe. With print overlay for clarification.

    Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

Can I make this frosting ahead of time?

Absolutely! Make the frosting up to 5 days ahead of time.

Can I use this frosting on cupcakes or cookies?

Absolutely! This frosting is rich and spreadable-perfect for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, or even cinnamon rolls.

Why is my frosting too runny?

It may be that your butter or cream cheese was too soft, or you added too much liquid. Pop it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to firm up, then beat again. You may need to add additional powdered sugar.

    Deb's top tips

Room temperature ingredients: Make sure your butter and cream cheese (if using) are softened before mixing-cold ingredients cause lumps.

Adjust consistency: Add milk a teaspoon at a time for a silkier texture, or more powdered sugar for a thicker, pipeable frosting.
