Crockpot Honey Mustard Chicken

This Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Chicken is sweet, tangy, and tender. Just toss it in the crockpot and let the sauce work its magic!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts (thighs = juicy magic, but both work!)
  • ½ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup whole grain mustard or more Dijon if you don’t have this
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar adds brightness!
  • 2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes for a little kick optional
  • Chopped parsley for garnish optional, but it makes it look fancy

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, whole grain mustard, olive oil, vinegar, and seasoning mix.
  • Place the chicken in the bottom of your slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the top of the chicken.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3–4 hours. Chicken should be fork-tender and cooked through (internal temp of 165°F).
  • Remove the chicken and shred with two forks. Return the chicken to the sauce. Leave the lid off the slow cooker and let the chicken sit in the sauce for about 10 minutes with the slow cooker off. This helps the juices settle and thicken up a bit.
  • Serve: Over rice, mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or roasted veggies. Spoon that extra honey mustard goodness on top!
  • Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped parsley or a few mustard seeds if you’re feelin’ fancy.

Notes

Storage: Cool completely and store in an airtight container. Refrigerate up to three days or freeze for three months.
