Equipment

  • Parchment Paper
  • Cake Pop Sticks
  • Black and White Straws
  • Microwave-proof mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 12 Reese’s Cups unwrapped
  • 12 ounce bag white melting wafers
  • 1 ½ tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Edible ink marker
  • Black cookie icing (royal icing)
  • 12 chocolate or candy bats

Instructions

  • Line a cookie or baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Very gently insert the cake pop stick into the Reese’s cups.
  • Melt the candy wafers in a mixing bowl and stir until smooth.
  • Add the vegetable oil to the melted wafers and mix thoroughly.
  • While firmly holding the stick, completely submerge the Reese’s cup into the melted candy. Allow the excess to drip off into the bowl. Set the covered Reese’s onto the parchment paper and set for 20-30 minutes or until the candy has hardened.
  • Carefully push the paper straw onto the cake pop stick.
  • Using the edible ink marker, draw Jack’s mouth, adding smaller lines to resemble stitches.
  • Use the cookie icing to make two large eyes and a nose. Trace the mouth curve, but leave the “stitches” as they are.
  • Attach the bats to the top of the straw just below Jack’s face using a dot of the remaining cookie icing.
  • Set for 1-2 hours at room temperature to allow the icing to harden.
