Equipment

  • 1 9x13 casserole dish

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
  • 24 ounce jar marinara sauce
  • 14.5 ounce diced tomatoes drained
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 20 ounce frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • Chopped parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the frozen tortellini according to package directions, reducing the cooking time by 1-2 minutes. Drain well.
  • While the tortellini cooks, brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease if needed.
  • Stir in the Montreal steak seasoning, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  • Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and the cheese is melted. (Optional) Place under the broiler for a couple of minutes to brown the top of the casserole. This will brown the cheese and give it that irresistible, must dig in right away, look!
  • Allow the casserole to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
