- 25 ounces cinnamon rolls with icing (that's 2 cans of cinnamon rolls)
- 21 ounce can apple pie filling
- 2 tablespoons butter (to grease the pan, or nonstick cooking spray.)
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar for dusting the top of the casserole. (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Open cans of cinnamon rolls. Set the icing aside. Generously grease the casserole dish with butter, and set aside.
Cut each cinnamon roll into six pieces—place in a large mixing bowl.
Open the jar of canned apples. Cut each slice into two or three pieces. (This can be a little messy, I've found scissors work best for this.)
Add the diced apples to the bowl. Mix together the cinnamon rolls and apple pie filling. Spoon into the prepared baking dish.
Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, until the top of the casserole is golden brown and the center is cooked and not doughy.
Remove from oven, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (if using) and drizzle with icing. Serve warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
