Equipment

  • 9x13 9x13 casserole dish

Ingredients

  • 25 ounces cinnamon rolls with icing (that's 2 cans of cinnamon rolls)
  • 21 ounce can apple pie filling
  • 2 tablespoons butter (to grease the pan, or nonstick cooking spray.)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar for dusting the top of the casserole. (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Open cans of cinnamon rolls. Set the icing aside. Generously grease the casserole dish with butter, and set aside.
  • Cut each cinnamon roll into six pieces—place in a large mixing bowl.
  • Open the jar of canned apples. Cut each slice into two or three pieces. (This can be a little messy, I've found scissors work best for this.)
  • Add the diced apples to the bowl. Mix together the cinnamon rolls and apple pie filling. Spoon into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, until the top of the casserole is golden brown and the center is cooked and not doughy.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (if using) and drizzle with icing. Serve warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
