Holiday Wreath Christmas Cupcakes

The holiday season is that much brighter when you make these pretty holiday party dessert!

Equipment

  • 24 holiday cupcake liners
  • 1 piping bag
  • 1 star tips for decorating

Ingredients

  • 15.25 ounce box vanilla cake mix + ingredients the box calls for to make the cupcakes eggs, water, oil
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 2 pounds powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons cream or whole milk
  • green food coloring
  • multi-colored candies or sprinkles

Instructions

  • Line the muffin tin with 24 cupcake liners. Preheat oven according to package instructions.
  • Follow the package instructions and bake the cupcakes. Remove the cupcakes from the muffin tin and allow them to cool completely.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, powdered sugar milk and vanilla. Using a stand or electric mixer, beat until smooth and fluffy.
  • Place ⅓ of the frosting in a bowl, set aside.
  • To the remaining buttercream frostring, add 2 to 3 drops of green food coloring and continue to beat until evenly tinted. Transfer the green frosting into a piping bag.
  • Start by covering the top of the cupcake with white buttercream. Then using the green frosting, carefully dot around the circumference of each cupcake to making one or two rows.
  • Place candies and pretty sprinkles around the "wreaths" to resemble pretty holiday wreaths.
  • Serve and enjoy!
