Spray the inside of the slow cooker with non stick cooking spray.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet on the stove. Drain fat if desired. Add the diced onion and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.
Place about a third of the spaghetti sauce in the bottom of a slow cooker.
Add half the frozen ravioli in an even layer on top of the sauce. Top with half the meat mixture and half the remaining sauce.
Repeat with a second layer of ravioli, meat and sauce finishing with cheese. Cover and cook on low for 2 ½ to 3 hours.
Notes
Variations
Do not thaw ravioli, that will change the cooking time.
Use a different cheese such as ricotta cheese or a combination of cheeses if you love a super cheesy lasagna. Cheeses that pair well for this lasagna include mozzarella, parmesan, Monterey Jack and ricotta cheese.
Make your crockpot lasagna super meaty by adding a layer of browned ground beef and Italian sausage to the crockpot or use beef stuffed frozen ravioli. Adding in frozen meatballs is another delicious option to further bulk up this lasagna.
Canned crushed tomatoes can easily replace the spaghetti sauce. If you love a kick of heat then consider using Ro-Tel tomatoes.
Include some onion and garlic for added flavor or add these extra ingredients when browning your ground beef (if you’ve opted to include ground beef in your lasagna).
TipsMake clean-up a breeze - coat the crockpot with a non-stick spray before adding and layering the ingredients. Or if you still struggle with food stuck to the pot once the lasagne has been consumed, you may want to try filling the pot with hot water and adding a dryer sheet. After 2-12 hours of sitting, the pot should be a breeze to wipe clean since the dryer sheet helps to break down hardened food molecules.
