Cracker Barrel Fried Apples
This 15 minute copycat recipe is simple to make and a family favorite! You'll love this delicious side dish!

- 4 tablespoons butter
- 5-6 tart apples peeled, cored, cut into ½-inch wedges (about 2 lb)
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- pinch salt
- 1 lemon substitute with bottled lemon juice
Peel and core apples. Slice into ½ inch wedges. Squeeze ½ lemon overtop and give it a quick mix.
Melt butter in cast iron skillet over medium heat.
Place apple slices in the melted butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Enjoy!
Slow Cooker Instructions
- Prepare the crockpot by spraying with nonsticking cooking spray or use a slow cooker liner - it just makes clean up a breeze!
- Prepare the apples as directed above. Place in sliced apples in crockpot. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Cover and cook on low for two hours.
