Did you know July 24th is National Tequila Day? You may decide to celebrate today with a margarita and if so, here’s a link for a great 5 Star recipe from the Foodnetwork! Give this one a try, it’s fantastic!
If you are going to a party and looking for an easy appetizer, then I’d suggest Tequila Lime Chicken Satays!
When I realized there was actually a day signified to celebrate Tequila….really?….I decided I definitely had to make a meal to help commemorate the occasion.
It’s really easy – uses things you probably already have at home. Just gather the ingredients. You’ll need tequila, limes, cilantro, an orange and garlic – some salt and pepper and that’s it!
You’ll need 1/2 cup tequila, plus one shot.
I used a couple of chicken breasts and cut them into strips, poured over the marinade and let the chicken marinade for 30 minutes.
Then simply threaded them onto skewers…
and popped them on the grill! Because they were so thin, it took 5-6 minutes to grill them. That’s it!
Paired with a delicious Tequila dipping sauce….YUM!!!!
You can serve this as an appetizer, or thread the skewers completely with meat and they will make a terrific main dish! Winner….winner…chicken dinner! 🙂
And what was that extra shot for?
You guessed it! Here’s to National Tequila Day – Cheers!
